Where The Wild Things Still Are

I don't care, I'm still not over this. Love.
Bought the book Wild Things by Dave Eggers a few days ago. I'm absolutely dying to get started.

NEW FAVORITE WEBSITE!

Have you ever though man I wish iTunes could read my thoughts and emotions and just know what I want to listen to! Well iTunes can't but StereoMood can!

Here are a couple that I've checked out that are totally rad!

Chill Out  Working  Writing

Berlin

The year begins NOW! Okay, technically it started about three weeks ago but I'm celebrating it now. Here are some pictures!

This is a website with a great example of how background color can dramatically change the the intensity of colors in a photograph. You can see the white to black gradient below the picture. All that you have to do is slide your mouse along it to change the background color.

My grandmother probably wouldn't be able to figure it out but she's 83. I have more faith than that in you!

FREE FONT...Saturday?

I wish that I would've thought of this yesterday...Free Font Friday sounds WAY better. Now I'm stuck with Free Font Saturday. I would change it but I'm afraid that it will undercut the integrity of my blog. Next time I'll be sure to come up with my ideas a day ahead of time.

Retro/Vintage Display Fonts Note to viewer, some of these fonts are really bad and some of them are super legit.

My favorites are Parisian and Seaside Resort. They're totally dreamy.

A Big Gay Update

Here's what's going down with the illustration that I'm working on.

Trompe L'oeil (x2)

Hero v Villain posters
I'm hoping that these will be the standard now instead of that one with the hot girl who all of a sudden turns into a scary old bag lady! You know which one that I'm talking about!

Fairy Tale Pipe Dream

Screw bricks. The first and second little piggies had the right idea. This is how we should be living...you know, if we had forcefields and invisible air conditioners.

A Different NSA

My good friend Landon is a member of the New Orleans chapter of the National Stuttering Association. They're going to a conference at the end of October so he asked if I would help him out with a shirt design. He wanted it to say "I stutter. Ask me about it." and to have a smiley face so that's what he got...with some personality.

Lesbian Pirates VS Ninjas

First of all, Pirates are totally sick but in a fight I'm pretty sure that ninjas would win unless the pirates are super attentive lesbians as well...    Then anything could happen. Go ahead and let your brain chew on that for a little while.

Working on an illustration for a poster supporting same-sex marriage. The characters are super androgynous so that they could literally be anyone...male, female, whatever. I put an early picture of where I'm going with it below. Let me know what's up.

By the way I love the argument that same-sex marriage would corrupt the institution of marriage. About a week ago I saw that some girl got married in a theme park. A theme park! I'm just saying.

This is why I love Germany and all of its people!

This dude definitely knows what's up. Thank you Andreas Heikaus for being alive and awesome at the same time.

Apple Juice and Percocet Diet

I swear that I'm not a drug fiend (no I don't). Some psycho with a blade cut out a few of my teeth so I've been living off of juice and pain pills for a few days. Ok, the psycho is an oral surgeon but I'm pretty sure that I've seen him digging through some trash cans.

On a side note-------go listen to this song. I love it more than trampolines and ironing boards!

On another side note-------look how insane this book is! I saw this on my german professors shelf and she just gave it to me!!!

(Scan of the books interior, look at that illustrated D!!! Isn't it gorgeous! The typeface that they used is just fantastic, super-difficult to read but still awesome!)

(Photo of my bookshelf, the two books on the bottom with the gold line-work are the books that my prof. gave me and I love them!)

I love books. I love to hold them and read them and smell them and hold hands while running through a field of white flowers...HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!!

I'm MGMTicked Off

Brian Eno? More like Brian oh no!
This song is so boring! What happened to the upbeat MGMT that we all know and love :((((
It's like they ran out of time to pretend and lost that electric feel! What happened!?
I'm crying right now    .....tears of pain and regret and more pain!
